Nobel prize-winning author John Steinbeck’s powerful novel about the devastating effects of the Depression and the nightmare of the dust bowl on a generation of Americans was brilliantly brought to the big screen by director John Ford. Henry Fonda turns in a career-making performance as a former prison inmate returning to his home in the dust storms of Oklahoma. His family has been evicted from their farm and must relocate to California for work and a better life. It’s a harrowing tale of the homeless in the Great Depression and is beautifully conveyed on the ad campaign for the film.
