Only the second time we have ever acquired this half Sheet in our 40 years collecting!. Very Good condition with minor wear on borders including tape stains, pin holes and minor fold lines (most all Original half sheets were folded prior to 1980). .
Rebel Without a Cause (Warner Brothers, 1955). Half Sheet (22″ X 28″).
James Dean made his definitive mark on the cinema as the quintessential troubled youth Jim Stark in Nicholas Ray’s Rebel Without a Cause. Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo co-star in the picture as teens with their own set of problems that lead to dire consequences.
Despite lifting its iconic title from psychiatrist Robert M. Lidner’s 1944 book Rebel Without a Cause: The Hypnoanalysis of a Criminal Psychopath, Nicholas Ray’s groundbreaking 1955 drama offered a far more sympathetic look at the lives and problems of his generation’s teenagers. Looking into James Dean’s eyes on this beautiful half sheet, anyone who possesses a shred of empathy can see that this young man’s real cause for defiance is simply a lack of true love and understanding. The poster displays impressively, and the montage also features Dean in his emblematic cherry windbreaker, blue jeans, and motorcycle boots. The poster has fold wear, a tear just below the horizontal fold on the right side with surface paper loss and a tape stain, tape stains on the bottom border and corners, pinholes in the borders, scratches in the interior, creasing, and bleedthrough on the top right corner. That said, this stunning poster is 100% Un-restored and looks fantastic as is. But, the new owner always has the option to have it linen backed and minor flaws corrected. But, we like the Authentic vintage look and feel as it is !
